REGE 2 AUG IF:
19th June 1916.
sir,
With reference to your interview at this Department on
the 14th instant, on the subject of the Nordisk Fjerfabrik, I
am directed by Secretary Sir E. Grey to confirm the verbal
statement made to you on that occasion with regard to my letter
of the 20th ultimo, namely that the explanation furnished by
the head office of the Nordisk Fjerfabrik in Copenhagen con-
cerning a proposed slipment of feathers from Hongkong to
Denmark satisfied this Department that the Company had no inten
tion of trading with the enemy and that under these circum-
stances no steps would br taken by the Department to remove
their name from the China White List.
You will understand that this decision referred solely to
the position of the Company on the White List and must not be
construded as affecting any action which His Majesty's Covern-
ment may find it necessary to take in the exercise of their
belligerent rights with regard to any particular shipments of
feathers from China to Denmark.
K. Mygind, 7sq.,
Secretary,
Danish Chamber of Kanufacturers,
Carlton House
11d, Regent Street,
I am,
Sir,
Your most obedient,
humble Servant,
signed
Controller.
